About Me

My photo
ScruffyDog
I'm a dog lover. Cats are great. Birds are great. Dogs are supreme. This blog started with one dog in particular: Baxter, a Wirehaired Pointing Griffon who was the sweetest dog I've ever known. Then came Kirby, a scruffy little shelter dog of diverse lineage (he's quite the charmer). Sadly, we lost Baxter in April 2012 and Kirby in January 2021. Remy, a smart, highly entertaining Wirehaired Pointing Griffon kept Kirby on his toes (literally) for years and brought us joy every day. Sadly he passed in July 2021. While I like most canines I meet, the scruffy dogs tug at my heartstrings the most. Eyebrows and moustaches. Curious sidenote: my husband looks a LOT like my dogs. Coincidence? I don't think so. Ultimately this is a good thing. I'm surrounded by sweet, scruffy beings and I love it. When I'm not playing with one of my scruffy boys or blogging as Scruffy Dog, I'm usually working as a freelance writer, reading, working on my first novel, making music or coming up with another reason not to clean house or cook dinner. Our latest adventures with rescue dog Henry Blue can be found at www.maplereach.com.
