It's been a while... but we're back with more scruffy dogs up for adoption. Here are a few canines that tugged at our heartstrings this month...

- I'm a dog lover. Cats are great. Birds are great. Dogs are supreme. This blog started with one dog in particular: Baxter, a Wirehaired Pointing Griffon who was the sweetest dog I've ever known. Then came Kirby, a scruffy little shelter dog of diverse lineage (he's quite the charmer). Sadly, we lost Baxter in April 2012 and Kirby in January 2021. Remy, a smart, highly entertaining Wirehaired Pointing Griffon kept Kirby on his toes (literally) for years and brought us joy every day. Sadly he passed in July 2021. While I like most canines I meet, the scruffy dogs tug at my heartstrings the most. Eyebrows and moustaches. Curious sidenote: my husband looks a LOT like my dogs. Coincidence? I don't think so. Ultimately this is a good thing. I'm surrounded by sweet, scruffy beings and I love it. When I'm not playing with one of my scruffy boys or blogging as Scruffy Dog, I'm usually working as a freelance writer, reading, working on my first novel, making music or coming up with another reason not to clean house or cook dinner.
